UCLA broke out to a 14-0 lead and, despite Stanford making it close in the second half, where able to pull away with a 35-24 win over the Stanford Cardinal in their home opener. Stanford had played their last seven games away from home because of COVID-19 protocols.

The Cardinal struggled to move the ball early in the first half with 3 of their 4 running backs missing the game due to injury. Quarterback Tanner Mckee finished the day 19-32 for 293 yards and three touchdowns, but at the end, it wasn’t enough as Stanford fell short.
