SANTA CLARA, Calif. –Christian McCaffrey extended his touchdown streak to 12 games as the San Francisco 49ers won their 13th consecutive regular-season game, defeating the New York Giants 30-12. Deebo Samuel caught one of Brock Purdy’s two touchdown passes. The Niners, though not sharp early in their home opener, secured their second 3-0 start in 25 seasons with key plays from McCaffrey and impressive catches by Samuel and George Kittle

The Giants heavily blitzed Purdy, who capitalized with 247 of his 310 passing yards on those plays. Coach Kyle Shanahan commended Purdy’s performance under pressure. McCaffrey contributed 85 rushing yards, 34 receiving yards, and a touchdown, matching Jerry Rice’s franchise record with 12 straight games with a touchdown.

The 49ers’ defense dominated the short-handed Giants, who struggled to move the ball due to injuries and penalties. Daniel Jones couldn’t find a rhythm, managing just 137 passing yards and an interception. Thursday’s game was also Hispanic Heritage celebration at Levi’s Stadium, during halftime, there was mariachi music and Ballet Folklorico.
