Santa Clara, CA — The San Francisco 49ers kicked off the 2024 season in front of a packed Levi’s Stadium, welcoming fans back for their first and only preseason home game against the New Orleans Saints. While Brock Purdy took the initial snaps, it was quarterback Joshua Dobbs who truly stole the spotlight in the 49ers’ 16-10 victory.

Dobbs was electric, engineering scoring drives on all three series he commanded. His standout moment came just before halftime, orchestrating a masterful two-minute drill that covered 80 yards in just 1:16. The drive culminated in a one-yard rushing touchdown, showcasing Dobbs’ poise and versatility.

“My job is to be ready when my number is called, in whatever role that is,” Dobbs said, reflecting on his performance.
The 49ers will now set their sights on the regular season, where they’ll open at home against Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets on September 9.
